I use this honey as a face mask. It works wonders and the results are instant. This honey is extremely soothing for irritated, congested skin. I use it solo but it can easily be mixed with other products as well. A ton of information is available online about the rating systems for Manuka honey, which can be very overwhelming. I tried to untangle some of it and spent way too much time online reading about it.

 

At the end of it all, I landed on this particular Manuka honey. I think I made the right choice because it has genuinely been one of the most therapeutic product I have ever used on my face and worth every single cent. • Manuka is not just a raw honey — it's a specialized honey that has antibacterial properties
• It's made in Australia and New Zealand by bees that pollinate the native leptospermum scoparium bush (also known as a tea tree)
• The UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) is an official grading system for New Zealand honey, which assures the honey is pure and unadulterated
• Lower UMF grades of 5+ or 10+ are mostly used as a sweetener. Minor infections and burns can be treated with UMF 18+ or 20+
• The higher-rated products contain greater potency of methyglyoxal and leptosperin (two markers that give this special honey it's antibacterial properties)
